Shannon Lynch is a shy girl who transfers schools to escape terrible bullying and severe abuse at home. On her first day, she gets accidentally hit in the head by a rugby ball thrown by Johnny Kavanagh, the school's star athlete. Johnny feels guilty and steps in to protect her, and as they grow closer, they become each other's safe haven while fighting their own deep personal battles.
